About the Sahasrara chakra

Sahasrara, the crown chakra, is the thousand-petalled lotus at the top of the head, read as pure awareness and the goal of meditation.

The 1 Mukhi is its classic bead — ours is the Nepali half-moon kind, priced on request — and the Savar sits with it. The 11 Mukhi is the more available choice. The 17 and 20 Mukhi are rare and their attribution to the crown varies.

Common questions

Which Rudraksha is linked with the Sahasrara chakra?

1 Mukhi, 11 Mukhi, 17 Mukhi, 20 Mukhi and Savar / Sawar (1 Mukhi on 2 Mukhi). Chakra attributions are recorded differently in different sources, so you may see other beads listed elsewhere.

Which mantra is chanted with these beads?

Each bead has its own beej mantra. 1 Mukhi: Om Hreem Namah; 11 Mukhi: Om Hreem Hum Namah; 17 Mukhi: Om Hreem Hum Namah; 20 Mukhi: Om Hreem Hum Namah; Savar / Sawar (1 Mukhi on 2 Mukhi): Om Hreem Namah. It is traditionally chanted when the bead is first worn.

These are traditional associations recorded in Vedic and Puranic sources. They are described here as tradition, not as medical or therapeutic claims, and no bead is a substitute for medical care.
